Teaching Art

Teaching art is a way I giving back. I do enjoy teaching I just don’t do enough of it. As I get ready to embark on another year of creativity. I can’t wait to start a new project.

Teaching art is a blessing

Every day is a blessing and I am truly grateful. I found that putting out content on a teaching blog is not as fulfilling or easy as I thought it would be. I need the inter action teacher to student.

The best thing I can do is to go back to that one on one experience that I find so fulfilling.

Private teaching has come to a halt since the pandemic. So even though I love it my time is spent in the studio painting, drawing and doing sculpture.

I have to say that I still believe in giving back so, I try to keep giving you my readers a great foundation

Guidance starts at the beginning

Motivation keeps us coming back for more. Get inspired to learn as much as you can in this field.

Learning the basic of composition is the key to any great work of art. I believe if you have a great foundation you can build anything.

Finding ways to keep motivated are not hard when you’re doing what you love. For me there’re subjects all around me. I am inspired by life, shadows that form shapes, light that defines, space that creates perspective and colors that dance across the world bring it alive.

There are so many artist videos on line that can show you how they interpret the medium you want to work with. Some are free and others you need to pay for. I haven’t done any as of yet.

A great free reference is You Tube is a great source for beginners to add to their tool box.

Teaching art when my student has a disability

Working thru my learning disability, I can identify some of the student that experience the same. Teaching art to a person that has dyslexia can be identified by watching and changing the approach in the way we see shape and line.

When the desire to create is strong you can be taught to learn any art, because the varieties of art endless.

One thing to remember is that the student is there because they want to learn. Keep them focused is not hard when they want to be there.

These are examples of art work from an artist with ADD and Dyslexia
