Artist Websites Are a Pain In The Neck

Artist websites can be a pain in the neck. When mine is running correctly it is a beautiful thing. I go on and work freely with ease. As soon as something goes wrong I am completely at the mercy of my platform for help.

The small issues I know how to deal with, but this latest issue I am lost. On hold right now because so many of us are working at home do to the pandemic.

So I’m sitting here in limbo waiting for a call back from customer service.

Artist websites and adding content

I got the simplest theme so I can add my content, new pieces to my gallery and be done. Well things run smooth 98% of the time.

Normally this process is easy and without incident, but sometimes just adding a photo to my gallery is a pain. Just getting them to line up on the page takes a while than if there is something I forgot it adds stress. I am an artist and I think I should be able to work this website an hour or two and get on with painting or drawing.

Adding content is basically writing a post or uploading a new piece to the galleries. Double check my links and do any needed updates, easy does it. Until the link doesn’t work.

Still waiting for customer support so today is not that day. Today nothing is going right, it’s like walking into the studio to work and not being motivated by anything around you. The life is just sucked right out of you.

Wasted my day in limbo. Spent a day waiting and going through content to see what is lost and what is still there. Not happy.

When an artist websites go through changes out of their control they are not welcome. I lost content and I really hate to have to add it again. If it wasn’t for wanting to show my work I would just stop.

So it is time to get back to work. Here we go thanks for letting me vent.

Never miss an opportunity to show your work.
