How Can I Get Myself in a Better Position?

Posture was so important when we were growing up, sit up straight, raise your head and don’t slouch. We heard that every day, my dad was in the military and posture was very important because it is the way people see you and you want to show your strengths not your weakness, he would say. So we did as we were told and we grew up with great posture.

I am in a marketing business myself and I can see why it is so important. People want you to take the lead and they put their trust in those of us that have great mental posture. The posture of a person can tell so much about whom they are and where they are going. My father was not only talking about physical posture he was all so talking about your mental posture. When you meet a person you want to leave a good impression, you want people to see that you are confidant and that what you do matters. You want to show off the education you have and make those around you comfortable as you engage in conversation.

When you are in business for yourself you want other to see that you are strong, capable and ready to do whatever it takes. People come to you because you are confident and that makes them feel safe. They can see you do what you say and take pride in what you do. Posturing yourself is not always easy when you are just starting out. Fear of the unknown and how people will respond to you, your product or your offer will paralyzing some people who think they have what it takes to succeed.

Many famous people are so much different when you meet them in person. While you see them one way their friends and family see them another. They have to put on a game face, so to speak to deal with performing in front of people. The talent they show off is only a very small part of who they are. So many of us have to put on our game face when we start, we want people to take what we are doing serious. We want them to take a look at us as the authority and fear keeps us from taking those first steps to putting on our game face.

That is why it is so important to practice what you are going to say and how you are going to say it. A singer does not go out on stage without practicing the song that they are going to sing and you should not call or talk to people without know what to say. One of the things I do is record what I am going to say and then listen to it over and over until it becomes part of my posture. I want to know what I am talking about when someone questions me about my business and I want them to feel confident that I am the one to show them how to succeed in a marketing business.

Everyone has the potential to change what they are doing if they want to, but you cannot give someone the drive to do it. They either have it or they don’t, fear will stop you in your tracks if you are not ready to do whatever it takes to get what you want. That is why you start your business you need to be prepare before you open the doors to let anyone inside. If you are in direct sales you deal with people every day and you have to posture yourself for you are your business. You know the products and the opportunity work, which is why you have chosen this business model to go forward with the goals you have set for yourself.

Practice, practice, practice, on the phone, with your family and friends and have fun because you are on your way to an incredible life style one that not everyone can do. You don’t need a better place you need to posture yourself in the place you in.

Our military will not go to battle without running drill after drill until they have no fear of battle and the ones that are not sure will never show their fear because it would cost them their life. My dad was in two wars and if he were here he would say… “Straighten up; get the job done, the more you do it the less you think about what you are doing,  just do it.” The worse thing that can happen is someone will say no and guess what? Most of them will, get ready by not caring about rejection, let it roll off your back because this is a number business and there are people who do say yes and those are the ones with the drive to succeed. You are in a place to guide them and that’s what matters.

Should I Look at Your Compensation Plan?

Marketing is not what it used to be. Today you have to reach for more than a home party to make money at network marketing. So here are some things you should question before you start building your business with any company.

Is the compensation plan worth your time? That means an income stream that will support a steady flow of income. The training, product and an earning potential is powerful. You want to draw interest to your prospects. Those of us that work with a powerful earning team know how important it is to get what a person needs in their hands as soon as possible so that they can start making other money right away. A powerful plan that they can duplicate is important when adding a company to their business plan. How do you make money with this? By earning residual income, customers and recruiting.

Today entrepreneur are tomorrow’s teachers. Building a company that supports a team of business investors that count on the opportunities in place to recruit is much different from the news juice or supplement they offer. You can work yourself to death for a couple of dollars if the compensation plan is not worth the paper it’s on. See it doesn’t matter how great the product is unless you are the one who developed it. You need to distribute it. The hype about how much money we are going to make, means nothing unless you put it into the hands of the people driven to succeed. The entrepreneur will know whether they can work with your opportunity and will do what it takes to succeed. You are developing business relationship with people just like you who want to profit from the time and money they invest. These people are there to teach so that we all will profit.

Investing time and money on an opportunity is emotionally hard when you start. We work closely with you based on what our needs are. This is what is important to our company and the team of people I work with. The opportunity is not to work hard, it is to work smarter. The companies that want you to distribute their products through direct sales will do the research, testing the products, produce and ship the product and pay you to do it. If the compensation plan that is worth your time and when everything is in place you are hungry to start, like bees to a meadow of flowers. We know that your plan will make it easy for us to present the opportunity to an entrepreneur and they will eat it up like nectar. The fact is, time is our most valuable asset and we don’t want to waste it. Your opportunity is the tool we use to help people realize that they can succeed at owning their own business. You supply what we need and in turn we deliver your product and opportunity to the next generation of entrepreneur. So the things I look for in a compensation plan are can you build a business around it, Is it teachable to others, will it produce residual income.

Study the complain plan, asks questions and take part in a recruiting webinar and meeting to see if the person presenting the offer is giving you what you need to succeed. The compensation plain is more than the opportunity it is the person behind it. Do they have what it takes to train you to do what they do and show you how to earn that residual income? We are entrepreneurs and we hold ourselves at a higher standard when it comes to our business and when you put an offer on the table you have to back it up with action or we will go find someone who will.

Have Fun With It

Recruitment meetings are a part of the business. Every time we enter a room we are sharing an opportunity that will change someone’s life. The doors open, you can feel the excitement in the air as the leaders enter the room. The music tonight is the sounds of happy people talking about what is going to take place. You look around the room you see your team members, newly qualified prospects, friends and even family. Tonight is about catching up with the people on your team, brain storming your next move, announcing a new product launch and handing out the awards. All is good and ready to begin…

The people you bring to these events have gone through your screening process and are open to the opportunity or at the very least curious to see if they are ready to make that commit. Now is the time that they can see you at your best. Show off your team to your prospects so they will know who they can always count on to share their experience and knowledge and they will appreciate the acknowledgement. They love to show off their skills to. Fellowship is what brings us together we are a group of ordinary people who live fantastic lives. Your people need to feel like they are welcome even if they don’t sign on the bottom line. They have the character that you admire in a person that is why you invited them.

Leave them with an example that will stick with them. Have fun and to tell you the truth I don’t care if you take advantage of the opportunity or not, I just got to spend some time with people I enjoy. Not everyone is ready for an opportunity. I have brought you here it’s up to you to want it. Networking is nothing more than getting together with others, doing a little work and having fun while you’re doing it.

Every person in the room is there to support each other effort and take advantage of the opportunity to show off what they did and how they did it and to see if you want to do it to. When you bring your people to the meeting they can get answer on the spot from your team members that have been around this business longer than you. They are more than willing to share their stories, so introduce the people you brought to you team, make them feel at home. After the meeting take your people for coffee or a drink. Talk about the meeting and find out what they thought. Tell them why you are so excited about the changes in your life and how much time and fun you have. Everything you talk about is possible because of the decision you made to become an entrepreneur. We are the living example of what could be possible when you decide you what to work for yourself.

Do You Have What it Takes to be a Sponsor?

A successful sponsor uses a conversation to qualify their lead seeing if they have what it takes to join them in a business. It takes time to build a team. You will interview hundreds of people to get a few that you like and want to spend time with. Start conversations with everyone you meet to see how they measure up to the standards that you want.

When I started out I did not get the information that I am share with you. Do an outline of the team members that you want and what they need to qualify. Knowing what you want in your team will make it easier for you to write down the questions you need to ask. Qualities that you admire in other people is a great stating point for your list of leads. Set a number for them to reach to qualify for your time. You will need to practice, so start right away there’s many people to talk to. We all make mistakes in the beginning and that just part of the learning process. When you get this down it will save you many hours and make qualifying your prospect easy. Set a time a side everyday to talk to leads on the phone.

Here are some of the qualities that I look for in my prospects.

  • Honest people who do what they say when they say they will do it. I building a business relationship by being honest and expect the same from my business relationships.
  • Outgoing and energetic people (You only get one chance to make a first impression so my leads had better make a good one.)
  • Successful, business minded people are patient and focus on their goals, are open to opportunities and willing to work for what they want.
  • Personalities that are easy-going and don’t sweat the small stuff, they are patient, kind and can easily start or join into a conversation.
  • Straight-forward people can easily get to the point and they pay attention to details.
  • People, who commit themselves in the opportunity, have clear goals to get what they want and follow through until they succeed.
  • People who actively are looking for a home business opportunity and treat a home business as a business not a hobby.

That brings us to the qualities that no one wants to work with because of being a downer. These people only see the negative in life and are no fun. I Avoid these people they are depressing.

  • People that doubt every move you make and can be negative when dealing with you or anyone else.
  • Control freak, people who don’t understand the word no or have trouble letting anyone shine except for themselves.
  • Unemployable people who can’t hold down a job and don’t have good work habits. If they can’t work for someone they will never work for themselves.
  • People with a fearful personality are afraid to take a risk or have a fear of success, afraid of change.
  • A hostile person, no one wants to spend time around mean and nasty people who will not considered others and use fear to intimidate or control.

You want the best people to join your company, so look for the business builders that want to work with a strong team. When you start qualifying you are screening people looking for those who are willing to work for what they want and will follow through with the commit they make. Don’t waste your time on anyone who doesn’t qualify, they are not worth your time. Qualify quickly and move on to the next lead. You want to develop relationships with people with connections to a network of business people. Business relationship with these people will develop over time and is worth your time.

You can’t put desire into someone. This is not a get rich quick industry and if you sponsor the wrong person you will be wasting your time. This is an emotional drain on you and your business. These relationships make your business. Face to face is still the best way to qualify a person, as you move through your day pay attention to the sale clerk or the waitress working their way through school. They may have the qualities that you admire and the attitude you’re looking for. The bank teller is working with money, clearly has a job and is someone worth you building a relationship with. Your doctor or dentist maybe looking for a business opportunity to expand their earning portfolio.

So do you have what it takes to sponsor? I don’t know what you will do with the opportunity or what your work habits are. A sponsor is the one who hand picks the people who they want to do business with and they support a team with the same qualities that they admire in others. They build a strong team of people who believe that failure is not an option and will do what it takes to succeed. The standards that you set for your team is no different then you will have for yourself as a team builder.

More Than a Memory Jogger

Okay you open up your marketing package and what do you find? Marketing material, training manual, and the products you can use or give away as samples to prospects. Inside the manual you will find printed material and the one you want to focus on is a memory jogger. If your manual doesn’t have one you can make one easy or download one from your back office, most companies supply a memory jogger with their training materials.

So what do you do with it? You can write down the names of everyone you know, matching them with their occupation. Whether they are friends, family or just an acquaintance put them on the list. This is a great way to keep you focused on contacting everyone you know. All you have to do is contact as many as you have on your list by phone or mail. Right! If less than 10% of everyone you contact is going to entertain your offer, you better have an endless list.

So how do you get more out of the list?

  • Select the people in your friends and family that are already a success at bring in an income and open to making extra money for family vacations etc…
  • Graduated from college in the last 5 years you are on my list. You have proven that you will do what it takes to educate yourself and use any leverage to get ahead in your goals.
  • The teachers from the local school are great candidates they are into self educating to keep their teaching skills up to date.
  • Doctors, lawyers and business owner work long hours and may want to work less or retire early. Your opportunity will give them that.

We can go through each person on the jogger, but you get the drift. Your list is more than just writing down the names of the people you know. It is a grow file and that paper that you got is just a guide to get you started. I say take that list and change it into a filing system that you can categorize everyone you know, meet and new relationships that you will be making. The folders are based on your memory jogger and put local contacts into a folder labeled local talent. I look for qualities that you can build a business relationship with. The inside of the folder has a list of 5 qualifying questions. If you meet the requirements you get a file with your name, number, date and contact time, along with a call back number. I leave an open space to write your questions and set a date for a three-way call with a team member in the company who will have the answers.

Make a point to invite everyone in your folders to local events by phone, email or mail.

Doctors and lawyer have a folder of their own with the same a file with name, number, date and contact time, along with a call back number. I leave an open space to write down your questions and set a date for a three way call with a team member that is seasoned in the company.

Think about the strategy that you put into your list these are local people and you are choosing the people you will want to have a business relationship with. You don’t want to waste your time on anyone that does not qualify for your time. You are putting them in a position that is give and take. If they are not going to work at building their business, than they are a broken wheel on a cart that will go nowhere until a new one is put in its place. That is why the qualifications are so important. You don’t want to drag them into anything they cannot do. You are guiding who you sponsor. The companies that you are in business with are multimillion dollar businesses and will weed out anyone that doesn’t have what it takes to success.

So even if the memory jogger is a good way to get started it is what you do with the people on the list. Don’t waste too much time on close family and friends if they get curious enough they will ask you. Then feel free to share just enough to see if they qualify for business time. They will always have your love and quality time and that is why you are doing this.

Develop a Logo or Collage Using Microsoft

So many of you have commented on my site and how I designed it. So I thought I would share what I did to create the photos and the projects that I create using my own photos and Microsoft.. As you go through these steps experiment with the tools that are available to you as long as you save it in a different file you can have fun save your project. After you find what you’re looking for you can upload it to your theme as a background or as header. Have fun and create something wonderful for yourself.

Step One:

Find a picture or group of photos that you feel represent you and your business. You can change the colors and composition of your picture when you open it with Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Here you can edit you photos by cropping, change or enhance the color and contrast. It will also resize to fit your needs. When you have your picture the way you want it save as a new document and label it with the title of the document.

Using my photo to create a jpeg interchangeable document:

Step Two:

I have taken my original photo and made these changes using Microsoft office picture manager. First I cropped it then I took all the color out making it black and white.

I sharpened the contrast by moving the scales to suit.

Used the color scale to add the color blue. I have manipulated the photo to suit. Experiment until you find what you want.

Save as with a title you will remember. Close all files remember don’t save changes to your original photo.

Step Three:

Open Microsoft office power point, go to page layout and pick the blank document. Pick the photo option. When the browsers opens your files up look for the picture you just created. Insert your picture. As you look over your photo you can decide where you want to add text to your photo. Click on text box. Used the draw the text box option, start typing what you want people to know. Keep it simple you can add as many boxes as you want. Be mindful of the color you pick for your text and think about adding color to fill the background of the box. You can even set an outline color to the box drawing a person’s eye to that part of your composition. If you don’t want color 0r texture click no fill. Now if you like what you see hit save. You have just created a jpeg picture that you can upload to your theme.

How to Use Leverage in Your Marketing Business?

Creating a larger income in my marketing business is possible, but a lot of work. Why wouldn’t you leverage a network of like minded-people to help each other to get a head? The beauty of network marketing is surrounding yourself with the people you like on your way to the top. They become good friends and mentors that share their tools, tips and tricks so you succeed in building a strong marketing business. Open communication and time is the leverage you need to have a strong successful marketing business.

Communication is the way people can see that you are truly interested in helping them get ahead, even if they just want to make a little extra money. They feel connected to you because your vision for the future is the same. You have no problem keeping the marketing team motivated you are all on the same page. Your skills are contagious the team is infected with the potential to grow strong and all of you will be success. Everyone is going to gain a wealth of knowledge and income. There’s your leverage.

People are the key to keeping each other motivated. Communicating and working towards the same goal is leverage you can’t buy. Your marketing team is working together towards the same goal and is unstoppable. People keep money flowing and the more people you recruit the more financial growth for your team. Everyone has their own dream of the abundant life they want and each person has their own style of doing things. Get to know their strengths and weakness and remember they are your business. Each one of us is at the top of our part of the business all working towards marketing success.

Time is the one leverage that is critical to building a marketing business. So remember that you’re not getting any more off it, your time is priceless so seize the moment. The time you need to do one sale is yours. If you make $10 on every sale you do, and do that 10 times a day that is $100 in your pocket. Now say that you have trained 5 people to do what you do and each one of them makes 10 sales a day and you give each person half of what they sold. You are giving them $5 a sale and they do 1 sales in one day that gives each of them $50 a day and you in turn receive $50 dollars from each person. Do the math you end up with $250 dollars for that day. You are still doing the same amount of work.

Okay here comes the leverage each one of those people your team trains 5 people and in turn they train 5 people who on their team. So on that level instead of you making $10 or $5 per sale you are only making $2 per sale. However you have 25 people on that level who each make 10 sales. Exciting isn’t it now the 5 you started with have 5 teams and the goal in to sell 10- $10 products.

Okay you’re out selling a diet product even better you only worked selling the 10 products, your team sold an extra 50 product and then their teams sold 250 products! Because all of you were working toward the same goal you sold 310 products. Even though you did not make as much per sale by having a team, you made far more than you would have made by yourself. You are just one person. That is the big problem with creating wealth without any help.

You are only given 24 hours in a day. Over half of those 24 hours you spend on activities like sleeping, eating, and doing chores and working towards creating your wealth. However when you have a team that are all working together you have created a leverage point on those hours. So you can just spend 10 hours per week working on creating wealth. You also have a team of 5 who each spend 10 hours a week creating wealth for themselves. Which means you and your team are spending 60 hours per week on creating wealth, and in the example before each of those 5 people have a team of 5. What if they spend 10 hours per week working as well? They work a total of 250 hours per week, plus your team and you work 310 hours per week. That is 310 hours of work put in per week. If you could work 24 hours per day 7 days per week, you by yourself could only work 168 hours in a week.

Your teams joined together are putting in almost double that. If you are only working 30 hours each week you and your team are spending over 300 hours per week building a bigger business. Everyone is working towards the singular goal of creating a successful business.

In fact, this is the way it works at any “regular” business in America. At your local grocery store there are dozens of people working various different shifts all working together to keep the store operating. One person could not run the store. One person could not work all the hours it takes to get everything done. They are leveraging the hours of all those people to create a profitable enterprise. This is an advantage of building a Network Marketing company, you may earn less on other levels, but you have more people working, and more people working means more sales being made, creating more income.

Now you know what the leverage is and how to use it to your advantage. This is the secret of the world of business that is no secret to those who will do what it takes to succeed in marketing. We want a strong marketing team make sure you communicate your goals clearly from the beginning. Your team can grow as large as you want with many teams in place with the same goal in front of them. You’re loyal to the team and the company that supports your goal to become a success.

Would you rather earn one percent of the efforts of 100 people or 100 percent of your own efforts?

Building a Business is Like Creating a Great Piece of Art

Building a business takes time and when it is successful it is a work of art. Look at your business as a work of art, pick a subject and sketch out your ideas. Create the composition using the endless limits of the medium you wish to work with. Now start to build your piece of art work. The time it takes develop depends on how well you know your craft and if you are able to teach it to others. You can go from making nothing to hundreds. It becomes the picture of a vision you have of your business.

Know there are some artists that hop from project to project not mastering the medium that they have picked.  Create a style that people will recognize as your work of art (your brand). A finished master piece takes time.  Your business will take time just like a painting you will have to develop your skills. First pick a niche that you love and when you have mastered the techniques you plan on using. Pick the products you think are going to complement your work (business), apply the color (products) and watch how your subject starts to appear on the canvas. Pay attention to every detail so that you can portray a piece of work that is beyond your expectations and is a master piece of art. The artist who hops from project to project may never be an accomplished artist who can successfully create a piece of art. Taking time to build your business is worth so much to the people you do business with that they look at it as a treasure. They can’t image losing it.

Art is personal creation that stirs up emotions that will reach out and grab your heart. This is the way you should feel about the business you are creating. Marketing techniques may take some time if you are starting from the ground up. Don’t settle until you are pleased with the finished piece of work. It requires dedication and practice before you are comfortable in your new role. Take the time to learn the products and services that you market. When you have a good fit you will know it.  Create a business that is like no other, attracting people who share your passion will inspire them to develop a painting of their own. You have learned the art of marketing and can teach your skill to others. Only a true artist is able to teach the skills they have acquired. Masters in the art world are building a name based on their style and people who truly love art want it around them. The people who want to become a master will copy the skills of the person that they truly respect and are willing to take the time to teach what they know to anyone who will listen.

When you are confidante people will take notice. When you know the skills and are compelled to share it your business is working for you. Marketing is an art and I am confident that out of the millions of people who start out wanting to master it only a select few finish what they start. When you master your approach your confidence will show and you will not worry about how long it is going to take to build your business (art) because you know it is working and you are having a great time.
